SkyBus brings a warm welcome to Tasmania with SkyBusk musical acts
Travellers on board our Hobart City Express service will be carried to their destination on the sound of sweet symphonies or enchanted with tales from a storyteller as SkyBusk returns for 2023.
SkyBusk is a mobile music experience that will see live performances both on board SkyBuses for select Hobart City Express services and at Hobart Airport between June 8 - July 10, 2023.
Coinciding with Tourism Tasmania’s Off Season winter campaign, the five-week initiative will feature 9 local artists performing at peak arrival times, providing visitors with an unexpectedly warm welcome to Tasmania.
Drew Freeman, General Manager Tasmania said the initiative showcased the local creative talent in Tasmania while supporting the local tourism sector. “Every day SkyBus offers a world-class welcome to domestic and international travellers and SkyBusk is a campaign now in its second year which adds novelty to the SkyBus experience, which is something we’re always looking to maximise. “What’s more, we’re so proud of what Tasmania has to offer and this gives us a chance to showcase some of the creative talent and incredible cultural experiences on offer with a unique customer experience on the way into Hobart.”
Tourism Tasmania’s Off Season winter campaign encourages people to explore the state’s mix of cultural events, natural attractions and culinary experiences. With artists scheduled to feature at peak arrival times, chances are travellers will see (or hear) a SkyBusker if they are visiting Hobart for Dark Mofo or the school holidays.
Norris Carter, Hobart Airport, Chief Executive Officer said the initiative would help make a memorable experience for visitors to Tasmania. “For many visitors to Tasmania the airport is the first opportunity for us to set the scene why Tasmania is so amazing.“SkyBusk is delivering a unique experience that surprises and delights travellers passing through the airport ensuring their trip is a memorable one.”
SkyBus Hobart CIty Express operates from 4.30am to 10:30pm between Hobart Airport and six conveniently located stops throughout the city including Hotel Grand Chancellor, Brooke Street Pier, Visitor and Information Centre, Collins Street, RACV Hobart Hotel, and The Old Wool Store Apartment Hotel.
