Where to buy tickets

There are a number of ways to purchase your Hobart City Express tickets. You can purchase online, the SkyBus App, via our easy to use touch screen kiosks in Hobart or from our drivers when you board the bus.

Buy online

Buying online is a fast and convenient way to buy your SkyBus tickets.

After purchase you will receive an electronic ticket which you can show from your smart device to our driver when boarding – no need to print.

SkyBus App

The SkyBus App makes purchasing your SkyBus ticket even easier.

Tickets are saved to your Ticket Wallet for quick access. Check your remaining trips or view upcoming departures directly from the app.

Hobart City

You can purchase your SkyBus ticket in downtown Hobart from one of our quick and easy e-Kiosks. One is located inside the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre opposite Stop 3, the other at the Mona Ferry Terminal near stop 2.

Last minute trip? No problem, you can also purchase from the driver when you board the bus.

Hobart Airport

Purchasing a ticket at Hobart Airport is simple, just jump on one of our quick and easy e-Kiosks. We have two conveniently located inside the Airport terminal near baggage carousels, ready for you to purchase and jump on board.

Hobart City Express tickets can also be purchased from the driver when you board the bus.

Hobart City Express ticket purchases are credit card only.

Hobart City Express stops

SkyBus Hobart Express provides direct transfers to the city, with kerbside departures directly outside the Airport terminal.

We have six convenient city stops servicing popular landmarks, accommodation and venues. Heading to the Mona Ferry? Our Brooke Street Pier stop will deliver you right outside the terminal.

Our new Visitor Information Centre stop on Elizabeth Street as well as stops outside the Grand Chancellor, ibis Styles, RACV/RACT Hobart and The Old Woolstore make getting to and from your destination in Hobart a breeze.

SkyBus Hobart Zero Emission

Electric buses to Hobart Airport

Tasmania’s first two fully electric buses have officially hit the road today as part of the SkyBus service connecting passengers between Hobart Airport and the city.

The brand-new zero emission vehicles offer visitors landing in Tasmania a ‘green and clean’ welcome and smoother and quieter transport experience. ​​​​​

Replacing diesel vehicles and displacing carbon emissions, the electric buses will deliver environmental benefits and help to kick-start plans for transforming public transport for Tasmanians.
